SweetTooth Treats
Interaction Design Project | UX Designer
This collaborative project for SweetTooth Treats, a local family-owned bakery, focused on revitalizing their online presence through a fresh, user-centred website redesign. As the UX/UI Designer, I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance brand identity, streamline user flow, and create a responsive, visually engaging interface that highlights SweetTooth’s playful charm and signature desserts.

We began the project by searching existing bakery websites to understand the customer base and pain points. Through the research process, we identified key goals, including attracting more online visitors, enhancing product showcasing, and improving website navigation. We conducted a design analysis to benchmark visual trends, navigation styles, and feature sets. We then mapped out user flows for key tasks, such as browsing the menu, viewing bestsellers, and placing an order. This ensured that navigation paths were logical, efficient, and aligned with real user needs.
Discovery & Research

Based on our research findings, we developed two primary user personas: a busy parent looking for birthday treats for their kids, and a young adult exploring trending desserts. These personas guided our design decisions and helped us prioritize features. We mapped out user flows for key tasks, such as browsing the menu, viewing bestsellers, and placing an order. This ensured that navigation paths were logical, efficient, and aligned with real user needs.
User Personas & User Flows

We began with low-fidelity wireframes to define the layout and content hierarchy, emphasizing a welcoming homepage, a clear call-to-action, and accessible product categories. These were reviewed internally and refined into high-fidelity prototypes using Figma. Each section was designed to strike a balance between aesthetics and function, ensuring both visual appeal and clarity, while maintaining usability. The prototype included key pages like Home, Menu, About, and Contact.
Wireframing & Prototyping

To reflect the fun and vibrant personality of the brand, we selected a pastel-based colour palette with candy-inspired tones and paired it with rounded, playful typography. Visual elements, such as product photography, custom icons, and decorative elements, helped strengthen the brand identity across the site. We also created a consistent design system to maintain alignment in spacing, buttons, and interactions throughout the website.
UI Design & Branding

Usability testing was conducted with five participants representing our target personas. We asked them to complete tasks like finding a specific dessert, locating store hours, and submitting a contact form. Feedback revealed some areas of confusion in the navigation menu and spacing in mobile view. We adjusted button placements, increased visual contrast in certain sections, and refined the mobile layout for a smoother user experience. These changes were implemented before final handoff.
Testing & Iteration
This project taught me the importance of balancing creativity with usability while collaborating closely with a diverse team. I enhanced my understanding of responsive design, realizing how crucial it is to ensure a seamless user experience across different devices. I also came to appreciate how thoughtful branding influences user trust and satisfaction, reinforcing the need to create a strong identity that connects with users. This experience not only refined my design skills but also highlighted the integration of creativity, functionality, and branding in impactful user experiences.
